Poker is a popular card game all over the world and there are several types of variants of poker that are popular among poke aficionados. People play poker in homes, bars, clubs, family gatherings and now with the advent of Internet, there are several websites that also offer online poker games. A person can choose the type of poker he wants to play from any of the websites that these games can be played for fun or for money. Here are some popular types of poker games:

Texas Hold ‘Em: This type of poker can be played with two up to ten players. The rules of the game are simple and the game progresses at a fast pace. In four betting rounds, each player gets two face down cards and five community cards are dealt face up for the use of all players. The player who has the highest five-card-poke at showdown wins.

Omaha: This poker variant can be played with two to ten players. In four betting rounds, players are given four cards face down known as hole cards and five community cards face up for use of all players. Players must combine two hole cards with three community cards for a winning combination at showdown.

Five Card Draw: This is one of the best known poker variations. The game can be played between two to five players. After an initial ante, two rounds of betting commence. Each players gets five face down cards and a player may draw up or leave up to five cars after the first round of betting. The highest five card combination wins at the pot at showdown.
